Ingredients

  • 14 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos)
  • 1 (6 oz) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • Jelly Beans
  • Peeps bunnies
  • Shredded sweetened coconut
  • green food dye

How to Make Easy Easter Dirt Cups

Step 1: Make the Chocolate Pudding Layer – In a mixing bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes. Use either a whisk or electric beaters. After the 2 minutes is up, allow the pudding to set for a few minutes in the refrigerator.

Step 2: Prepare the Chocolate Cookie Crumbs – Using a butter knife, scrape the cream filling from between each cookie and discard. Place cookies in a Ziplock bag. Once all the cream filling has been removed seal the Ziplock bag and crush the cookies. Once cookies are crushed set them aside.

Step 3: Dye Coconut – Add coconut to a Ziplock along with 3-4 drops of green food coloring. Shake and mix until all the coconut is a nice shade of green and looks like grass.

Step 4: Assemble the Dirt Cups – Carefully spoon a layer of chocolate pudding into each cup, creating a smooth and even layer. Next add a layer of crushed cookies. Follow with the remaining pudding. Be sure to smooth each layer with a spoon to create even layers. Add a Peep bunny to each cup. Top each cup with a layer of crushed cookies. Sprinkle the shredded green coconut on top of the cookies to resemble grass. Nestle a few jelly beans into the “grass” for a playful touch. Enjoy!
