Ingredients

Ingredients for Wonton Salad. Chicken, Wontons trips, lettuce, vinegar, sugar, vegetable oil, soy sauce and salt.

For the Salad:

  • 1 package of fried wontons salad toppers
  • 1-2 heads lettuce
  • 2 cups cooked chicken
  • optional – green onions and water chestnuts

For the Dressing:

  • 3 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

How To Make Delightful Wonton Salad

Step 1: Make the Dressing – In a small bowl, mason jar or liquid measuring cup, whisk together vinegar, sugar, salt, vegetable oil, and soy sauce until well combined. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to an hour.

Step 2: Assemble the Salad – Shred lettuce into bit size pieces and place in a bowl. Top with cooked chicken, wonton strips, drizzle with dressing and add the optional water chestnuts and green onions.

  • When preparing chicken I like to cook it with salt and pepper and then freeze it ahead of time. When I am ready to make this salad I will defrost the chicken and drizzle a little soy sauce over the chicken and warm it slightly. You could also do the same with any precooked and frozen grilled chicken.

Step 3: Toss and Serve – Gently toss everything together until the salad is evenly coated with the dressing. Divide the salad into individual serving bowls or plates.

Simple Does It!

Whether enjoyed as a light lunch, a refreshing side dish, or a standalone meal, this fusion creation offers a unique and delicious experience that celebrates the best of both worlds. So, gather your ingredients, and prepare to savor every delightful bite of this extraordinary salad sensation!
