Ingredients
Cereal – 7 cups of a puffed rice cereal, AKA Rice Krispies.
Butter – 6 tablespoons of salted butter, plus more to butter the 9×13 dish.
Marshmallows – One 16 ounce bag of marshmallows. Name brand or off brand, it doesn’t matter–a marshmallow is a marshmallow!

How To Make The best Rice Krispy Treats
Step 1: Prepare Pan and Cereal – Butter a 9 x 13 pan then set aside. In a large bowl add 7 cups of puffed rice cereal, also known as Rice Krispies. Set bowl aside.
Step 2: Melt the Butter – In a medium sized sauce pan melt 6 tablespoons of butter over low heat.
Step 3: Add The Marshmallows – Once butter is mostly melted it is time to add a 16 ounce bag of marshmallows. Stir until about 75% of the marshmallows have melted.
Step 4: Mix – Pour mixture over cereal then add one teaspoon of vanilla and a dash of salt. Stir until cereal is well coated.
Step 5: Press Into Pan – Transfer the mixture into the prepared 9 x13 pan and gently press it down with a spatula or your (greased) hands. It’s a bit sticky, but that’s part of the fun!
Step 6: Let it cool – Allow your masterpiece to cool for about 30 minutes. This is the hardest part because the smell is just too tempting, but patience is key.
